Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice

Information about consumer health data, including sources, uses, sharing, and rights.

Contents

Information covered by this notice

Consumer health data can include information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to a person and reveals, describes, or supports an inference about that person's physical or mental health.

This notice is separate from the general Privacy Policy. It addresses consumer health data handled through beta features and does not claim that the same law applies to every person or feature.

Categories collected and how they would be used

We collect a category of consumer health data only when you use the related feature.

  • Information you choose to provide, such as health-related conversation text, symptoms, observations, timing, context, medications, follow-up answers, files, or imported records. It would be used to provide the conversation, record, organization, follow-up, and export features you request.
  • Information from a device or service you separately connect, such as Apple Health or wearable information. It would be used only for the purpose shown when you enable that source.
  • Information VitalSyncLabs derives from those sources, such as classifications, summaries, episodes, connections, patterns, changes, or suggested follow-ups. It would be used to provide the related Insight Profile feature.
  • Consent, source, access, export, deletion, and security records associated with consumer health data. They would be used to honor your choices, protect the service, respond to requests, and meet legal obligations.

Sources

Consumer health data may come directly from you; from a file or record you import; from a device, health platform, or service you separately connect; or from VitalSyncLabs processing those sources to provide a feature you request.

Connecting one source does not authorize access to another source.

Categories that may be shared

VitalSyncLabs does not permit selling consumer health data or sharing it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Sharing is limited to the categories and purposes below.

  • Information you select for a one-time export or share would go only to the recipient you direct.
  • Information needed to operate a requested feature could be processed by an approved service provider for that defined purpose.
  • Only information reasonably necessary to protect users or the service, respond to a valid legal requirement, or complete a properly governed business transaction could be disclosed for that purpose.

Third parties and affiliates that may receive it

No specific affiliate is currently authorized to receive consumer health data. A service provider may receive only the information needed to operate a requested feature for its defined purpose.

  • Approved infrastructure or storage providers could process the consumer health data needed to operate a requested feature.
  • A clinician, organization, or other recipient could receive only the information you select for a user-directed share.
  • Government authorities, professional advisers, transaction parties, or security responders could receive only the information required for the applicable legal, transaction, or protection purpose.

Your consumer health privacy rights

Where applicable, you may ask whether VitalSyncLabs collects, shares, or sells your consumer health data; access that data and a list of recipients; withdraw consent to collection or sharing; request deletion; and appeal a refusal to act.

Exercising these rights does not require you to create a new account. VitalSyncLabs may take reasonable steps to verify your identity and, when applicable, an authorized agent's authority.
